Jo Ann O'Hara has been studying painting in the area for the past eight years. Previous to painting, and raising children, she was in the fashion business. She is a member of Greenwich Art Society, Art Society of Old Greenwich and Greenwich Arts Council. Her work has been shown in local Greenwich venues.

O'Hara has been teaching painting classes to children ages 6 and older at the Art Lab for the last five years. O'Hara says she enjoys teaching children and sharing her passion for painting. She says she finds it satisfying to watch children become engrossed with the process of painting and to feel that therapeutic peace that comes with painting. The children paint by patterning their work after a master painter, using their own interpretation The children then read about master painters and explore the masters' paintings.

She currently teaches at the Old Greenwich Riverside Community Center, where sign-ups are ongoing.
